Welcome to EMODnet - Physical Parameters
The EMODnet Physical Parameters portal is aimed at providing layers of physical data and metadata available for use by public authorities, scientists and industry, and contribute towards the definition of an operational European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) and contribute to developing of the definition of the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) marine core service.
The portal is being developed by a European consortium and operated in a cooperation between EuroGOOS, its Regional components (ROOSs), and exploiting SeaDataNet and MyOcean infrastructures and services bringing together many marine data users and providers.
The EMODnet Physical Parameters portal provides access to near real time and archived data series from fixed stations and ferry box lines in the European Sea and provides OGC services (WMS, WFS, and WCS) for data discovery, view and download.
Near real time Data and metadata are populated by data owners, organized at EuroGOOS Regional level according MyOcean infrastructure and conventions and made available with the EMODnet Physical Parameters user interface. Latest 60 days are freely viewable and downloadable while the access to older data (monthly archives) request MyOcean credentials.
Archived data series and metadata are prepared and populated into the SeaDataNet CDI Data Discovery and Access service and made available through the EMODnet Physical Parameters user interface by a dedicated machine-to-machine service.
Users can freely search and browse the CDI discovery services and identify relevant data sets. Access to data is regulated via an online shopping mechanism that requests SeaDataNet credentials and respects data access restrictions as set by the data owners.
For data access the data copyrights of owners and providing infrastructures must be respected.
